台北 In A Jiffy

寒假過的太快…

Well damn. Where does the time go??? I swear I was just frantically packing to get on a plane to go to Taiwan. Now here I am back here, and all unpacked. How sad. Whyyyyyyyy. I can’t complain though…well, can’t complain thaaaaaaaaaat much. Really though, even being able to go back for that brief period of time was beyond worth it! Family. Friends. Food. Hahaha, what more could you even ask for? But I miss all of that. So. Much. And waaay to get me so addicted to One Piece. So many new discovered foods in addiction to all the ones I loved before. Lots of old and new places to explore. (7-Eleven, I loooove that you are at every street corner and 西門町, you’re pretty much my favorite place to go shopping for everything, JSYK.) Everyone I got to hang out with, meet, and of course, mess with, I’m glad it happened.

Soooo hey, Taiwan, that was way fun. Let’s hang out again real soon, k? And next time, you’ll have to introduce me to 台中, 台南, 新竹, 花蓮, and all the other places you think would be fun to explore. Food-wise, keep it coming, and it will never get old (I swear, I can eat 餡餅 a million and a half times and still want to go for more!) So start planning! We have lots to do!!!

I’m eagerly awaiting our next meeting. For now, 再見, peace out. Keep it real.

台灣啤酒 is delicious. Wait that’s a lie…the Gold Medal one is delicious. So smooth. I don’t even like beer.

寧夏夜市

The night markets of Taiwan are where you get the best variety of food. With booths and vendors everywhere, there’s an endless selection of delicacies to eat. Anything from the famous stinky tofu, to 檸檬玉, to fried chicken innards. You don’t go home hungry after eating dinner at the night markets here!

國父紀念館. Sun-Yat Sen Memorial Hall.

November 12th representin’! Props to the pioneer of the Nationalist movement who first overthrew the Qing Dynasty and later found the KMT of Taiwan. Taiwan would not be what it is today without him—a man’s who political philosophy was based on nationalism, democracy and people’s livelihood.

There were tourists from everywhere at the memorial hall. I ended up having to take a bunch of pictures for European tourists, and then they would attempt to say thank you to me in Chinese.

Right outside the memorial hall was a giant park filled with people flying kites, riding bikes and kids chasing each other around. I wanted a kite!
